I've graduated! Hooray
I made it through high school, even managing to graduate cum laude and I felt SO cool wearing the gold honorย cords at graduation. This kid in my class, one of several class clowns, thought it would be the funniest thing if he fell headfirst down the steps at graduation after receiving his diploma and it WAS the funniest thing, but our parents didn't think so. but I laughed, really really hard.
I spoke in front of the church about the DR at both services yesterday, and that was a cool opportunity because it was graduation sunday and we were all talking about where we would be in the fall. Before I'd left at the end I'd already been handed a $50 check from a couple that's friends with my family. so, I've done the letters and the talk, now it's time to rest in God's peace and be confident that He will provide.
I got a new job, believe it or not it's at the same restaurant where I used to work and had quit because I couldn't stand the boss. but I've grown up some and we've set some guidlines and things are working out. the mexicans in the kitchen are immensely jealous because I chose miguel over them, but they'll just have to deal with that.
now I'm getting ready to go to work, but at the other restaurant and I'm hoping for a slow pace, but big tips :)
thanks for everybody that's been praying for me and all that's going on here. yesterday our youth pastor presented the graduates at church with the daily devotional "My Utmost for His Highest grad edition" and I started it as soon as I got home. I think this will help a ton because it's a set devotional and I'm not just on my own reading through the Bible.
oh, and reading the former DR FYM team's advice to us about our new home made me think "What on earth am I getting myself into?" but hey, at least we get bed to sleep on. that will be so much more heavenly than last summer on the floor with the cockroaches..and fighting rats...and who knows what else. >_<
